Only a few of our machines are directly connected to the internet and from those, only a few are of relevance for a typical user.

As of 2020, we offer the following machines as login nodes - please add the domain .atlas.aei.uni-hannover.de to each of the names:

condor9
Special submit machine mostly for interactive jobs or very small test runs. The compute nodes in this pool are mostly unique builds based on hardware of the main pool or specialized builds.
virtual machine with 2 cores and 2 GB RAM

All submit machines for the main pool are treated equally, i.e. it does not matter on which of these a user submits jobs on.

Additionally, we try to maintain additional head nodes for interactive work available under the names atlasX.atlas.aei.uni-hannover.de (where X may run from 1..9 but usually we try to keep the lower digits online). As these are usually based on older hardware, the availability may change on short notice if we run out of matching replacement parts.

These machine usually have more memory and/or CPU cores than the condor submit nodes and also more scratch disk space available under /local/user.
