Maintenance schedule for week of 2018-05-21#

This week, several items are on our to do list:

• (2018-05-22) Reboot of HSM. In order to change a coupld of low level kernel variables, we need to reboot the HSM machines, in parallel we will update the Solaris OS.

  During this work, the home file system will not be available. The outage is expected to last about one hour, starting at 07:00 UTC.

  Running Condor jobs may block or fail during this outage, thus please consider placing them on hold.

• (2018-05-22) Upgrade of ldr.aei.uni-hannover.de. We perform an in-place upgrade of this machine from Debian Wheezy to Debian Jessie. During the upgrade procedure we expect the data find service and gridftp to stop working.

  Work is currently scheduled to start at 11:00 UTC.

• (2018-05-23) Our ISP will work again on the networking infrastructure on Wednesday between 15:00 and 18:00 UTC. During this time, the external connection to Atlas may be interrupted.

As always, we hope to keep service interruptions to a minimum, but apologize already in advance about any interruptions happening.
